(The Life & ) Death Binder

I have been in business for almost three decades, celebrating my 30th anniversary in May 2025. During these years of working and getting to know the most amazing people I feel so lucky to work with and call my friends are my clients, suppliers, staff and colleagues. I have had the privilege of sharing, listening, leaning and learning collectively, through all of our ups and downs, joy, happiness, tragedy, sadness and grief through these years. I have learned so much through my own life experiences and feel it is time to share my knowledge to help others get organized and avoid any undue hardship, pain or suffering when it comes to the conversation of death. Death is not a word that anyone likes talking about but I really feel we need to change that and normalize it. .

I have had my own Death Binder for sixteen years. My parents have had theirs for over fifty.  It sounds ominous and dark, but really it's just a memorable name for a tool that everyone needs in their life, most likely to become the most important asset when "the time" comes. The Death Binder is basically a Life and Death Binder, the key to your life, summarizing everything you have worked so hard for, and your final wishes.

Why are we making a Death Binder?

We are trying to make the word "death" a more comfortable topic to talk about.  Everyone does it. No one's getting around it, no matter who you are or how much money you have.  We will all die, one day. When? Hopefully not until we're ripe and ready. But until then we want to create a system that's going to save you stress, drama,  legal fees, money, emotional hardship and frustration. It will motivate you to get your affairs organized, filed and up to date before you or someone you love has a truamatic injury or dies.

What is a Death Binder?

It is a system that will simplify and organize your life in case something ever happens to you and you cannot take care of yourself anymore or, when you die. Your lifes filing system of assets, debts, properties, loans, financial records, passwords, POA, Executor, Living Will, Will, RRSP, TFSA, RIFF, pension, beneficiaries, personal wishes, and so much more.  We all think we are fairly organized and that our family or partner, if we have one, would know what to do and how to carry on, but more often than not, that's not always the case.

So much more info to come.

Our goal is to have it ready for purchase by Spring 2025. If this can even help one person/family, then to me it will all be worth it.

Annabel xx
